STUDENT-LED ORGANIZATIONS
Make a Difference!

GENERAL VOLUNTEERING
Need volunteering ideas? We have your back.
NURSING HOMES
Nursing homes are a great place to find potential volunteering opportunities. Playing music, cleaning, and even leading bingo nights are all great ideas to engage in the community.
CHURCHES
If you attend church every sunday, then you should know that your church most likely offers missionary work. Ask your church for any opportunities to help those in need!
SCHOOL CLUBS
Most schools have clubs dedicated to volunteering and receiving volunteer hours. Groups like Key Club, Soup Kitchen Club, and Operation Smile Club are all great clubs to join or even start in your local high school.
TUTORING
Tutoring can be done in-person or virtually which makes it the ideal way to volunteer during a global pandemic. Find kids in your community in need of a tutor or join one of the many tutoring organizations that are dedicated to teaching young students free of charge.
ANIMAL SHELTERS
If you love animals, volunteering at your local animal shelter may be a great experience for you. From answering phones to walking dogs, there are a wide variety of ways for you to help out at an animal shelter near you.
LIBRARIES
Libraries are another great place to volunteer. Organizing shelves, making flyers, and helping visitors track down books are tasks that you may enjoy. If you're looking for a quiet place to serve our community, a library may be the place for you.

MA(S)KING A DIFFERENCE NC
Insta: @maskingadifferencenc
"With the emergence of COVID-19, lots of people have stepped up to assist in their own way. A common theme around the world has been making homemade masks and donating to a local area in need. However, everyone has their time constraints and may not be consistent in their donations. Our goal is to consistently donate to the areas we have partnered with while bringing together individual efforts in donating masks. Additionally, some citizens may be discouraged to make masks because of the necessity to go outside and purchase materials. We will be providing all of our volunteers with the necessary materials! Healthcare professionals are seeking donations of items called PPE (personal protective equipment), and essentially that is what we want to provide. We also hope to reach the associations that are requesting donations for PPE, such as homeless shelters and nursing homes." Information to sign up is found on their instagram.
